Mailboxes
The Highland Lakes Association (HOA) has specific requirements for mailboxes. Owners must purchase and maintain the original mailbox model selected by the developer. Replacements can be ordered from Cedar Craft (614-759-1600, www.cedar-craft.com), which has the model number on file.
The official white mailbox paint is “Brilliant White”, available at Creative Paints (1042 Proprietors Rd, Worthington, OH 43085, 614-888-5386). Acceptable alternative whites are available from other companies. For example, Behr makes a paint called “Ultra Pure White – semi-gloss exterior”, and Sherwin Williams offers “Highly Reflective White – semi-gloss” — both are approved options. The white color for all mailboxes must be semi-gloss and pure, unadulterated white.
For mailbox numbers, the HOA provides free green paint for touch-ups; homeowners can request it via the owner portal or by emailing admin@cpscolumbus.com with their address.
Mailboxes must be properly painted, in good condition, and securely installed at their original height. Flags must also be in good condition, and no gaps should exist between the box and the post. While existing silver base guards are permitted, new mailboxes require white metal or plastic base guards.
Management will enforce these rules and notify homeowners of any necessary repairs or replacements. Homeowners are encouraged to arrange vendor services in advance. See the PDF below for further details.
